Hi! Thanks for checking out ReSpun, by me, Chessie! ReSpun is my way of patching together vintage treasures, niche prints, and thrifted fabrics to create art you can style. I love patchwork because why work with one fabric when you can work with four or five! Especially when I'm always discovering vintage prints that bring me so much inspiration.
About Chessie
I'm 28 years old and I live in Charlotte, NC with my fiancé and our 3 dogs. I uploaded my first YouTube video in 2015. I was 19 and a freshman in college. Over several years, my beauty channel grew into 44,000 subscribers. My small corner of the internet was one of the coolest experiences and I had the best online community too. Eventually, I started growing apart from beauty and makeup consumerism.
Last year, I pivoted from beauty content to sewing content. I've never felt more connected to a hobby (and now business). It feels like my creative process and artist talents thrive in my sewing craft. My admiration for vintage items is the reason behind ReSpun. Thrifting and shopping at Estate Sales is one of my favorite activities. I love being able to combine my love for sewing and thrifting in this small business.
My Commitment to Secondhand
I am committed to sourcing secondhand and vintage fabrics for all of my ReSpun designs. ReSpun exists because vintage fabrics should be celebrated, not forgotten. Many of my tools and even thread (when possible) is secondhand. Being a sustainable small business is extremely important to me. There's too much waste on this planet already. I'm committed to sewing with materials has already existed for 20+ years.
